Profit
The Profit tab in the basic menu offers access to most of the income-generating features of the game. These are your bread-and-butter game controls, used to generate income, gain experience, or complete achievements.

Under the Work category, Petty Crime, Felony Crime, and Organized Crime are simply timer-based character actions.

The Drugs category has two features; Drugs and Search for Drug Deals. In both feature, the objective is to buy low and sell high. For Drugs, the in-game market defines the prices at which you buy and sell. For Search for Drug Deals, you are buying drugs from other players' Drug Front Property.

The Gamble category is precisely that; gambling games. It features Slots, Craps, Roulette, Blackjack, Poker, Dice, and the option to Block Gambling. These are the classic casino games and are available to anyone who has not yet blocked their own access to gambling.

Actions
The Actions tab provides access to attacking and training features. The attack features allow you to interact with others, and the training features increase your strength in those attacks. The base strength of the attack features is rooted in the Stat Roles on the signup page.

Attack offers the Wack, BG Wack, Hit List, Authorization, Attack HQ, and Dueling. When you form enemies, this is how you will strike them.

Train provides a myriad of features to increase your Stats by paying money or credits (and some time) in exchange for a small stat boost. Jail Breaking offer a way of rapidly increasing your ranking experience, Pickpocket is a way to snag up to $5,000 from a nearby player and increase your pocket picking skill, and Grave Robbing allows you to rifle through a dead man's coffin for up to $15,000. The Shooting Range and Take On A Contract features allow you to spend some money and a lot of time (Shooting Range) to train your gun, or a lot of money and a short time (Contract) to train your gun.

Travel allows you to move from one district or city to another. This feature is also available by clicking on your current location in the top left corner.
Artoremhttps://wiki.mafiareturns.com/index.php?title=Skills&diff=418Skills2013-05-05T04:31:51Z
Artorem:

TOC right

From the moment you create your character in Mafia Returns, you have a set of "Skills". These skills are generated with the "Roll" feature in the character creation page. From that moment, you set out to improve (most of) these skills as you play. These skills are the basis for your interaction with the game, so choose them wisely.

Wack
Referred to as "Marksmanship" in the character creation page, this skill is used to attack and end the lives of other players. This skill is used in the Wack and BG Wack features. When you start, it is wise to visit the Shooting Range until you can train no more. Once you've use the Shooting Range as much as possible, you can continue to improve your Wack skill by shooting other players and Non-Playing Characters (NPCs). This is a very dangerous skill to train, so it is wise to contact your leader before you make the step from Shooting Ranges to training on NPCs and other players. The development of this skill allows your character to kill others, so it can be a very valuable asset if trained well. As this skill improves, you will be able to kill higher-ranked and better-protected players.

Pick Pocket
Referred to as "Physique" in the character creation page, this skill is used to attack players by stealing their money. This skill is used in the Pickpocket (PP) feature, and the only way to increase your PP skill is to pick people's pockets. The maximum amount of money you can steal from a player is $5,000. However, if a pickpocket is performed in retaliation (someone pickpockets you first), you have the ability to "Mug" them. This is significantly more harmful to your target, as you can steal significantly more than $5,000 and jumble their flight and wack timers. Typically, players who invite pickpocketing have "Pickpocket friendly" in their profile, and will not attack you if you pickpocket them (though they do normally request that you send the money back). However, it is wise to always check the rules for the city you are in to ensure that no harm will come to you for pickpocketing someone. If you aren't sure, just stick to people you know.

Stealth
Referred to as "Stealthiness" in the character creation page, this skill is used when attacking players. This skill cannot be increased from when you sign up, the higher it is, the more likely your name will be shrouded in the Witness Statement for your attack. This skill is supplemented by Vision. The higher your stealthiness, the more vision necessary to see your name in Locals and Witness Statements.

Defense
Referred to as "Defense" in the character creation page, this skill protects you from attacks. This skill cannot be trained, but can be increased by purchasing Bodyguards.

Jail Breaking
Referred to as "Breaking and Entering" in the character creation page, this skill provides you with the ability to break other players out of Jail. This skill is trained by the successful breaking-out of a fellow player (it is wise to start with players being guarded by very few guards). This skill is quite valuable, as jail-breaking provides experience that goes towards increasing your rank (Gangster, Goomba, Earner, etc.). This skill does not decay, so once you are able to break out 20-guard players (admins), you will be able to consistently break them out (though there is a small element of chance to this, so you may fail a jail-break at any time, regardless of guard number or skill).

Crime
Referred to as "Intimidation" in the character creation page, this skill determines your success in crimes (Petty Crime and Felonies). This skill is trained (rather quickly) through successfully completing crimes. Once you're able to successfully "Rob the Local Post Office" consistently, training this skill loses its importance.

Vision
Referred to as "Street Smarts" in the character creation page, this skill determines how well you can identify your fellow players in Locals and Witness Statements. This skill is trained by posting in the Streets and Business District forums. As this skill increases, you will be able to see players with higher stealth, and witness statements will contain less asterisks (*), allowing you to decipher the culprit.
Artoremhttps://wiki.mafiareturns.com/index.php?title=Pickpocket&diff=417Pickpocket2013-05-05T04:27:17Z
Artorem: Created page with "The Pickpocket page is where you go to steal from other players.
The Pickpocket page is where you go to steal from other players.

In order to pickpocket someone, they have to be online and within three tiers of your current rank. (i.e. A Wise Guy can pickpocket up to a Boss [(1) Made Man (2) Capo (3) Boss]).

The success of your attack is based on your Pick Pocket Skill, with a maximum return of $5,000. These attacks can be stealth, based on your Stealth Skill and your target's Vision.

If someone picks your pocket and you catch them (it isn't stealth), you have the ability to "Mug" them back. This is much more severe than a Pickpocket, and hasn't a limit on how much money you can take (however, you can only take money they have on-hand, not in banks). Mugs also affect flight, wack, and pickpocket timers, extending them by a random amount.
Artoremhttps://wiki.mafiareturns.com/index.php?title=Thug&diff=397Thug2013-05-02T05:16:52Z
Artorem: Created page with "This is the rank acquired after joining a crew or playing for 12 hours. The Wack page is where you go to kill other players, Non Player Characters (NPC), Made Inactives (MIA), and Required Inactives (RIA).

In order to wack an account three ranks above or below you you will need to Request Auth.

The success of your attack is determined by your Wack Skill and your target's Defense Skill and his Bodyguard count.

Generally, Non Player Characters (NPC), Made Inactives (MIA), and Required Inactives (RIA) are the only accounts you should be shooting at unless otherwise ordered to by your leader or member of the crew's upper structure.

A Wack will result in one of three possibilities: "Success!" (Kill), "Falure!" (Miss), or a Wackback (Miss + Bad Consequences). There are three kinds of wackback: Gun Loss (you have to re-acquire a gun), Jail Time (you are given an extended jail sentence), and Death (your character dies). For any given shot, you have a small chance of wackback.

Always make sure you know your crew's policies in regards to shooting before you shoot.

Rules regarding shooting are player made and enforced.
Artoremhttps://wiki.mafiareturns.com/index.php?title=BG_Wack&diff=386BG Wack2013-05-01T05:15:16Z
Artorem: Created page with "This form of attack is used to reduce the effect of bodyguards on a player.
This form of attack is used to reduce the effect of bodyguards on a player. Bodyguards make it difficult to Wack a player, but players can work together to BG Wack the player until their Bodyguard count is low enough for them to shoot him. This was made easier recently when it became possible to kill multiple BGs in one shot. The strength of your Wack Skill dictates how much damage you deal to your target's BGs. If you train it high enough, you'll be able to shoot multiple BGs at once.
Artoremhttps://wiki.mafiareturns.com/index.php?title=Personals&diff=385Personals2013-05-01T04:51:15Z
Artorem: Created page with "This page provides a history of events that involve your character.
The forums are where the majority of the community comes together to interact in both game related and unrelated discussions. Some forums are 'In-Character' this means you must post as your character. Some are 'Out of Character' meaning you can post as yourself not your character. Posting in In-Character forums (Streets, Business Districts) increase your Vision.

Streets
The Streets Forum is where your character comes to life in-game. It is the major role-playing forum of the game. This is where you live out your Mafia lifestyle in words. As the game is set between 1920 and 1940 it is suggested that you keep your content to this era and, of course, Mafia-related. It is suggested that you do not refer to your "real life" in any way instead refer to your Mafia experiences. Everything should be written as your character would see it, do it, taste it, or feel it. You are not "you" here, you are your character. Debates, stories, in-character announcements, and interactive role plays belong here. How you express yourself is up to you as long as it follows the acceptable guidelines of the game.

Out Of Character
The Out Of Character(OOC) forum is for out of character dialogue that references in-game matters. The OOC forum is the ideal location for debates (of an out of character nature), stories that deal with the mafia or this game, and OOC announcements as long as they deal with Mafia Returns and the contents of the game. Players are also known to post requests for new profile pictures and contests here.

Outside
The Outside forum is for out of character dialogue that does not reference in-game topics. This includes video games, current events, music, and similar topics. It is for open discussion among players about topics that interest the posters and readers. It is not to be used to advertise, post nonsense, or attack players. If you aren't sure if your post belongs in the OOC or Outside forum, simply ask yourself "Does my thread contain content specific to Mafia Returns?" If so, post in OOC. If not, post in Outside.

Business District
The Business District (BD) forum is the secondary forum for in-character interaction. It is the place where players create establishments such as bars, shops, casinos, brothels, speakeasies and businesses of the like. This section of the site is specific to individual cities (if you post your Business thread in Philadelphia, it will only be available to players IN Philadelphia). Because of the city-specific nature of these forums, these are traditionally "owned" by the crews belonging to the respective city. Activity in this forum is encouraged, but it is wise to check the City Rules about setting up a business in a foreign city.

News & Announcements
This is where game changes, updates, official competitions, credit sales, and any other manner of official Mafia Returns announcements will be posted. The Administration uses this forum to communicate with the players.

Back Alley
The Back Alley is your private forum. You can do what you wish with this forum from using it as a 'pre-post' run to see how your formatting will appear, to hosting private meetings in game. You can choose to keep the dialogue in-character or out of character, and the subject matter, in game or real life.

HQ
The HQ forum and its tone are dictated by the crew leader. This is where your fellow family and crew members will interact with each other in a private environment. Crew Structures, crew rules, instructional material, and other crew related topics are discussed here.

Help
The Help forum is for player questions about game features and play. It should be used after consulting the Tutorial under the Help menu, this Wiki, and if possible, HelpDesk or a game Assistant. It should also be noted that the title of the thread in the help forum should reference the problem and not be generic like "Please Help" or "Having Issues".

Suggestions
The Suggestions forum is for player suggestions for new features, deletion of old features, or modification of existing features. Suggestions should be well written, thorough, and presented in such a way as to show a clear advantage to game play and advancement of the site. The amount of effort you put into explaining your suggestion will have an impact on how it is received by the community.

When posting game suggestions please do not put your idea in the topic and say "I think the topic speaks for itself". Put some thought into your suggestion by asking yourself some simple questions first..

What is your idea?

Has your idea already been suggested in some form or another before? (Check the Suggestions forum for past threads with ideas the same or similar to yours.)

What does your idea entail?

How can your idea be successfully implemented into the game as it stands?

What major changes would be needed to make your idea work?

What is the positive impact of your idea?

What is the negative impact of your idea?

How may your idea affect the rest of the players?

Include the answers to these questions in your thread. When replying to a suggestion please try to keep it positive.

Player Commission
The Player Commission forum is where you can view the votes and discussions of the Player Commission on suggestions and changes made to the game. If you are not in the PC you cannot post in this thread.

Note: Threads and posts that do not conform to the above general guidelines will be moved to the proper forum or deleted entirely. In some cases the original poster and subsequent players replying may be penalized if the thread is deleted or moved.

Any questions on the posting policy should be forwarded to HelpDesk and will be responded to in a timely fashion.

Always remember that in these forums you are expected to follow the Posting Guidelines, Site Rules , and Roleplaying Guide.
