WACK!

Players can attempt to wack other players, Non Player Characters (Durdens), Made Inactives (MIA), and Required Inactives (RIA) in this page. Rules regarding shooting other players are player made and enforced, and all new players are strongly advised to seek guidance of their crew leadership before using their gun to attempt a wack.

Players may attempt to wack three ranks above or below their current rank unless they received Authorization (Request Auth) from their crew leadership.

The attempt pits the attackers Wack Skill against the targets Defense Skill and Bodyguards. There are three distinct possibilities in it.

  • "Success!" (Kill)
  • "Falure!" (Miss)
  • "Wackback!" (Miss + Bad Consequences)
    • Gun Loss
    • Jail Time
    • Death

All wack attempts have a small chance of wackback.

BG WACK!

This form of attack is used to reduce the effect of bodyguards on a player. Bodyguards make it difficult to Wack a player, but players can work together to BG Wack another player until their Bodyguard count is low enough for a successful Wack. The strength of your Wack Skill dictates how much damage you deal to your target's BGs. A highly skilled marksman may be capable of killing multiple bodyguards in a single bodyguard wack.

Rules regarding shooting are player made and enforced. New players are strongly advised to seek guidance from their crew leaders regarding the use of their gun before attempting to bodyguard wack. It is extremely likely that "wrongful" shootings will be punished by death.

Hit List

The Hit List is where players may place bounties on the death of another character or that character's bodyguards. Another player that kills the target of a hit will automatically be credited with the posted reward.

Hits can be placed for any reason or for no reason. The person placing the hit may choose to remain Anonymous, or to have his name posted as the one who issued the hit. It may also be necessary to use the hit list when attempting to kill an offline character; the potential victim cannot be "found" without a hit being placed on the victim.

Note: To place an anonymous hit on another player, you will pay 25% of the hit's cost as a fee for anonymous, or 100k, whichever is greater. You must have done enough petties to earn a gun before you can post a hit on the hitlist.

Player Hits

A hit may be placed on another player. The base price of $10,000 plus $1,000 per rank of the victim is automatically added to whatever number a player enters in the "reward offered" field. To place a hit on another player, you must be in a crew and gangster+.

An additional $50k per rank will be automatically added if you wish to appear anonymous.

Bodyguard Hits

A hit may also be placed on another player's bodyguards. The base price of a bodyguard hit is calculated the same as a player hit. The base price is automatically deducted from the player's cash in addition to the reward posted.

A bodyguard hit is automatically credited to the account of another player when they shoot and kill a bodyguard owned by the target.

Hit List Costs

The base price of $10,000 plus $1,000 per rank of the victim is automatically added to whatever number a player enters in the "reward offered" field.

Additional Options

A player will often wish to appear anonymous -- that is, to have his name withheld from the "posted by" field of the hitlist. This prevents the hit from expiring by reprisal against the player that posted the hit.

An additional $50k per rank will be automatically added to the price of listing the hit if you wish to appear anonymous.

Get Auth

Authorization is where you request the authorization to shoot a person, or their bodyguards, from your crew leader.

Regular Authorization

This is when you are requesting permission to wack a specific person in game. This does not allow you to wack just anyone. If you wish to wack another target you must request "auth" for them as well. This is not the same as "Permanent Authorization". It may help to give a reason if you have not already communicated with your boss in regards to the shot. There is no guarantee that the shot will be approved. You will receive a personal news message informing you of whether or not your auth has been approved.

Note: If you leave the crew that gives you authorization for your shots you lose that authorization after leaving.

Permanent Authorization

"Perm Auth" is requested by you, the player. When you have received "Perm Auth" you will receive a personal news message and you will have the authorization to wack any target regardless of rank. This is usually given to those that the leader trusts not to abuse.

Permanent Authorization can be revoked at any time by your leader. If your leader removes your gun while having "Perm Auth", this also results in the loss of your auth. You will have to earn your gun back doing Petty Crimes just as you did the first time you earned it. The removal of your permanent authorization has no effect on your wack skill.

When using permanent authorization to shoot at someone more than three ranks difference from you your crew leader will get a notification that you took this shot, therefore, it is suggested that you take great care in how you use this.

Permanent Wack Authorization and Permanent Bodyguard Wack Authorization are separate requests, so if you want to be able to do both you must request both.

Note: If you leave the crew that gives you authorization for your shots you lose that authorization after leaving.

Bodyguard Wack Authorization

Permanent Bodyguard Wack Auth means you can shoot anyone's bodyguards, regardless of rank, any time.

Bodyguard Auth can also be requested on an individual target basis. Your boss will receive a message when you take a shot on a bodyguard so use this carefully.

The removal of your permanent Bodyguard Wack Authorization has no effect on your wack skill. Permanent Wack Authorization and Permanent Bodyguard Wack Authorization are separate requests, so if you want to be able to do both you must request both.

Note: If you leave the crew that gives you authorization for your shots you lose that authorization after leaving.

Attack HQ

What does Attacking a Head Quarters(HQ) do?

A HQ is bought by the Crew Leader of a crew and increases the defense stats of all crew members in their home district. Attacking it destroys parts of the HQ, lowering the defense.

Does the owner of HQ have to be dead before I attack?

The owner of the HQ does not have to be dead for you to attack a HQ although since this is an action that is considered hostile and may cause war, it is recommended that you talk to your CL before attacking someones HQ.

What stat's do I gain from attacking a HQ?

If you successfully attack a HQ you will gain a sufficient amount of exp (Experience) which will go towards helping you level up.

What notification do you get when you successfully attack a HQ?

When you successfully attack a HQ you will receive a notification notifying you of what you have achieved:
"You attacked [Crewleader name]'s HQ fort, and damaged [insert any part of the defense]"
OR
"You attacked [Crewleader name]'s HQ fort, and destroyed [insert any part of the defense]" (If you happen to destroy that certain part.)

What timer does attacking a HQ affect and for how long?

When you attempt to attack a HQ you will use up your wack timer. This will prevent you from using any actions linked to that timer for 30 minutes!

Dueling

The issuer picks between the following options:

1) Let a coin flip decide. (It randomly picks who gets the first shot) 2) I want to shoot first. 3) Let them shoot first. 4) We both shoot at the same time.

You do not need open timers to issue or an accept a duel. After the duel is over, your previous timers are restored.

You must be in the same city and have a gun to issue a challenge.

Once the duel is issued, all stats are recorded. It uses these stats, so anything you do after that point will not change the math. Buying 89013 bodyguards mid duel will not do anything. Having people shoot your opponents bodyguards mid duel will not do anything.

Since you are facing each other in the middle of the street, both knowing what is going to happen - there is no city bonuses or fort bonuses.

With the 4 different starting styles, 1 person will always die. If you choose to shoot at the same time, there is a chance that both of you are successful, and you will both die.

The challenge invitation will last 5 minutes, then time out. If it is not accepted in 5 minutes it will be automatically deleted. You do not need to respond to the invitation. When you accept the invitation, the duel will start within the next minute, shooting back and forth at ten second intervals until someone is dead.

In the event that both people have a 1% or less chance of hitting the other, that 1% will slowly increase on a per round basis to avoid excessive yawns.

If you wackback while dueling, it will just show as a fail with no other consequences.

First Duel in MR History

The first duel in MR history was between ClownShoes (better known as Goodfellas) and Tricky_Dick. The shot was decided by coin toss, Tricky_Dick won the toss and ClownShoes fell, forever being remembered for his bravery in being the first person in MR history to accept a duel invitation.
